The homemade anti aging facial recipes on this page will replenish your skin without draining your bank account!

Aging is just one of those things you cannot avoid. Regardless of how hard we try, time passes and our skin and body slowly show those tell-tale wrinkles and lines.

You may not be able to avoid it, but you know what you can do? Postpone premature signs and age gracefully!

Now, I’m a sucker for a solid anti-aging treatment and I truly love a good homemade skincare solution so I hit my kitchen and came up with some amazing masks. From my fridge to yours, here are my top 3 favourite anti-aging masks.

An Apple a Day Keeps the Wrinkles Away

What you need:

  1. 1 teaspoon of Natural Apple Juice
  2. 1 teaspoon of Cane Sugar
  3. 1 tablespoon of Plain Organic Yogurt

Stir together your 3 ingredients in a bowl until they come to a loose paste consistency. Using clean hands apply your mask all over your face and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Afterwards, rinse with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.

Why this works: The ingredients in this mask are chock full of AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids) and antioxidants. Antioxidants alone are important for keeping your skin looking youthful. They are responsible for slowing down the aging process by reducing the visible side effects of damage caused by free radicals.

Another great thing about this mask is the Vitamin C content. Vitamin C protects your skin and helps promote natural collagen production; which we all know is essential for keeping your skin tight and bright.

Are you a beauty babe on a budget? No worries! This mask only costs about $1 each time you make it!

Banana Replenishing Face Mask

bananaQuick, easy and yes, tasty! This next mask is full of potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc and a plethora of vitamins. When used regularly, this mask will act as a restorative solution to already noticeable signs of aging by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while continuously hydrating your skin.

What you need:

  1. half of a Banana
  2. 2 tablespoons of Milk or Cream
  3. 1 tablespoon of Organic Honey
  4. 2 tablespoons of Oat Flour

Thoroughly blend all of your ingredients together in a bowl. On thoroughly cleansed skin, apply your sticky mask all over your face. Pay particular attention to areas where you notice lines and wrinkles. Allow your mask to sit for 10-15 minutes then rinse with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.

Rich in Vitamin E, your fine lines and wrinkles stand no chance against this natural free-radical-fighting antioxidant. You should notice results after only a handful of uses.

Fruit Cocktail for Youth

strawberryThis mask is a little more time consuming and elaborate, but definitely tops my list for a favourite anti-aging mask.

What you need:

  1. ¼ cup chopped Cucumber
  2. ¼ cup Filtered Water
  3. 2 large Strawberries
  4. 2 tablespoons fresh Papaya
  5. 1 tablespoon natural Honey
  6. 1 tablespoon ground Oatmeal
  7. 1 tablespoon natural Yogurt
  8. 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  9. 1 teaspoon Coconut Oil
  10. Blender
  11. Strainer
  12. Small Cup

Using your blender, mix your cucumber and water until it becomes a smooth puree. Strain over your cup to catch the extracted water and then place in the fridge for safe keeping.

Rinse your blender then toss in your strawberries, papaya, honey, oatmeal, yogurt and sesame oil. Blend until smooth and lump-free. Apply this mixture to your face and let it soak in for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry.

Remove your cucumber juice from the fridge and apply it to your face like a toner. At the same time, massage your teaspoon of coconut oil into your face to keep it hydrated and glowing.

Why this works: All these ingredients are rich in AHA’s. AHA’s are responsible for refining your face by sloughing away dead skin cells and simultaneously nourishing the skin. Oatmeal helps soothe sensitive skin while the honey and coconut oil are natural moisturizers.

Editor’s Note, try using Manuka Honey for even better results, you can buy this and your coconut oil at low cost, direct from Amazon.

Battle the signs of the age, save some pennies and nourish your skin with wholesome ingredients straight from the fridge. There’s nothing more reassuring than knowing exactly what you are putting on your skin so dig deep and embrace your inner DIY diva!
